#ROTD: OH-13: Local Hero, Small Businessman Ganley Gains on Sutton

Like in much of the country, voters in Ohio's Thirteenth Congressional District are frustrated with the Democrats running Washington. Ohioans want jobs – not more spending – and businessman Tom Ganley is giving them a real alternative to Democrat Rep. Betty Sutton and her devastating support for Speaker Pelosi's jobs-killing agenda.

In a recent "Race of the Day" column for TownHall.com, NRCC Political Director Brian Walsh says that – unlike those in charge today – Ganley has actual experience creating jobs:

"Ganley is a businessman who created more than one thousand jobs running Ohio's largest automotive group.  While Tom plans to put his experience to work in helping to turn the economy around, Betty Sutton continues to vote in lock-step with Speaker Pelosi on issues like the failed stimulus, job-killing cap-and-trade legislation and a government takeover of healthcare."

Walsh also points out that Ganley is a local hero who risked his life by going undercover for the FBI for two years to help put more than 20 members of the Cleveland Mob behind bars. Watch Tom tell his story to FOX's Mike Huckabee:

To paraphrase former Governor Huckabee, if Tom Ganley can take on the mob he can take on the big spenders and special interests in Washington.

And despite Rep. Sutton's long hold on her seat, "even a deep blue district like this is within reach" this year, says Walsh. In fact, the Washington Post's Chris Cillizza says Ganley is giving Sutton "a real race":

"Ganley stood at 44 percent to 41 percent for Sutton in the Public Opinion Strategies survey. …

"Sutton has not faced a serious race since she won her seat in 2006, winning both her races with better than 60 percent of the vote."
