Enduring 14 consecutive months of unemployment at or above 9.5 percent, Americans have had enough of the job-killing policies of Washington Democrats. They want a new agenda that addresses their top priorities; a plan to put Americans back to work and rein in spending; a plan they can get excited about. They appear to have found it in the Pledge to America – Republicans' new governing agenda.
On consecutive Fridays, new surveys have shown that the Pledge to America is striking a chord with voters who know there is a better way than the failed economic policies of Washington Democrats. A new McClatchy-Marist poll out this morning shows that those voters paying the most attention this year are strongly behind the Pledge and its solutions:
The poll also showed that the "Pledge to America" platform from Republicans in the House of Representatives is helping to solidify support for Republicans among the most enthusiastic voters...
[A[mong those most excited about voting, 56 percent say they've heard about the pledge, and by a margin of 52 percent to 30 percent, they say they're more likely to vote for a pledge-supporting candidate.
The pledge promises to cut government spending, repeal the recently enacted health care law, and end government control of mortgage giants Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac.
This poll follows similar findings from a FoxNews/Opinion Dynamics survey released last Friday. In it, by an 11-point margin, those voters familiar with the Pledge have a favorable opinion of the agenda. Even more telling of its impact this year, that margin swells to 15 percent for independent voters.

The results are coming in, and the Pledge to America is clearly resonating with the American people. A message of ending the economic uncertainty, massive tax hikes, and runaway spending coming out of Washington speaks to those asking the question, "Where are the jobs?" And with no agenda of their own, all Democrats can offer is their record of a failed Congress that delivered disastrous results for the American people. Republicans, meanwhile, are charging forward with a positive vision to restore prosperity and security to the country. And the American people are getting behind it.
