Who's On Your Ticket? Freedom Project Launches New Tool for Activists
Want to help elect leaders who will cut government spending and stop the tax hikes to get our economy moving? Who will fight to repeal ObamaCare and start over? Who will post all bills online at least three days before a vote, and make Congress more open and accountable?
Then The Freedom Project's new online tool – Tickets – is just for you.
WHAT IS FREEDOM PROJECT TICKETS?
It's a simple platform that lets you build a customized "Ticket" of Republican candidates for whom you want to help raise money. Here's a sample Ticket. You can create one with candidates from your state, or small business owners, or any combination you want. Our goal was simple: to make it as easy as possible for conservative activists to help raise money for GOP candidates – and not just any GOP candidates, but the ones you support.
And since conservatives are naturally competitive (being fans of free enterprise and all), we added basic stats to each Ticket including how many contributions have been made and how much has been raised.
HOW DO I CREATE A TICKET OF CANDIDATES?
It takes three quick steps to create your first Ticket:
>> CLICK HERE to get started and set up an account;
>> Follow the instructions to create your Ticket – give it a name, a URL (for example, yours would be http://www.freedomproject.org/ticket/username/url), a description, and select the GOP candidates you want to add (don't worry, you can always edit and change your Ticket later);
>> Share your Ticket with the world, post it on your Facebook page, and help support the candidates you want to see elected to Congress.
WHERE DOES THE MONEY GO THAT I HELP RAISE?
The money you raise for these candidates goes to their campaigns – not The Freedom Project (although you can contribute to TFP here). The recipient candidates bear the cost of the credit card processing fees, which is 4% in this case, just as if you gave on the candidate's own web site. Learn more here.
WHY ISN'T [INSERT CANDIDATE NAME] ON HERE?
We only add Republican candidates for the U.S. House of Representatives because our mission is to help elect a new Republican Majority to Congress. And we only add candidates who have won their Republican primary election or are enrolled in the NRCC's Young Guns program.
WHY LAUNCH TICKETS NOW?
Because liberal special interest groups will pour millions of dollars into races around the country to protect their investment in a Democrat-run Congress. The Wall Street Journal reported that the AFL-CIO and SEIU alone "have a combined $88 million or more to deploy in this year's election cycle." And according to National Journal, "the DCCC is planning to invest $1M or more in at least a dozen districts that represent many of the toughest battlegrounds this fall" and has "reserved $49M worth of air time in 60 districts." While "Democrats are playing defense in the vast majority of these districts," Tickets is one small way grassroots conservatives can fight back -- one dollar, one race at a time.
WHAT'S NEXT? HOW CAN I HELP?
While we'll be adding new features to Tickets in the weeks ahead, we really want your feedback. Sign up today and start using Tickets, and let us know what features and improvements are needed – or what bugs you find. We're providing the platform but we want it to be one that meets the needs of the folks using it.
So … who's on your Ticket?
