Where Are the Jobs? Lack of "Green" Jobs Only the Latest “Stimulus” Failure
Today’s New York Times reports that the “green” jobs that Washington Democrats’ promised would materialize after the President’s “stimulus” spending plan became law are nowhere to be found.
The Times notes that “the green economy is not proving to be the job-creation engine that many politicians envisioned. President Obama once pledged to create five million green jobs over 10 years.… But the results so far suggest such numbers are a pipe dream.” More than two years after the “stimulus” was signed into law, even the New York Times admits that “federal and state efforts to stimulate creation of green jobs have largely failed.”
Tony Blankley, in a column quoting a study on “green” energy from one of Spain’s leading universities, noted that the Democrats’ spending binge has actually destroyed jobs: “for every renewable-energy job that the government finances, ‘Spain's experience reveals with high confidence, by two different methods, that the U.S. should expect a loss of at least 2.2 jobs on average, or about 9 jobs lost for every 4 created.’”
Coming on the heels of reports that unemployment in July rose in 28 states, Washington Democrats’ record has clearly failed – and has left millions of Americans asking “where are the jobs?”
Following is a quick recap of Washington Democrats’ jobs record, courtesy of the RNC Research Department:

There is a better way. House Republicans’ Plan for America’s Job Creators is focused on doing just that by empowering small business owners and working to eliminate excessive regulations. The GOP plan will stop unelected bureaucrats from dropping loads of job-crushing red tape on small businesses by requiring Congressional approval for any rule that would have major economic impact.
